More handball than ever on HBL TV

The 57th LIQUI MOLY HBL season will be officially opened on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, when the German champion THW Kiel and DHB-Cup winner Rhein-Neckar Löwen will play for the first title of the season at the Pixum Super Cup in Düsseldorf's PSD BANK DOME. All teams go into their first games with the wish for a perfect start into the new season. International fans can put a check mark behind this wish, as the season-opening match will be broadcast free of charge outside the DACH region on HBL TV with English commentary.

One day before the official kickoff of the new round, a finger is expected to be pointed, with Champions League winners SC Magdeburg, European League winners Füchse Berlin or the star-studded SG Flensburg-Handewitt naturally wanting to have a weighty say in the title race alongside the Zebras and Rhein-Neckar Löwen - and possibly one or two surprise teams. From August 24 to 28, the games of the 1st matchday will be played, with Friday and Monday complementing the usual matchdays of Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. The 2023/24 season does not only come along with european title winners, MVPs and rising stars – LIQUI MOLY HBL guarantees you handball action, excitement and the highest level not only from Friday to Monday, but throughout the entire season.

Since the 2022/23 season, the LIQUI MOLY HBL can also be followed in all countries that do not have their own TV partner. Via the OTT platform "HBL TV," the HBL reaches new fans worldwide and inspires viewers to watch handball in countries where no Bundesliga matches were previously shown live. These include, for example, the European markets of France, Spain and Portugal, but also markets in Southeast Asia (China, Japan), the USA or Africa (Egypt, Tunisia). Currently, one top match per match day is offered with commentary in English. In addition, the Pixum Super Cup and the REWE Final4 can be viewed with English commentary.

Fans of the 2nd Handball Bundesliga listen up: From now on, all games and favourite players also found their place on HBL-TV. The fight for the title in the 2nd handball bundesliga and the promotion to the strongest league in the world can now be followed not only in Denmark, Sweden, the Netherlands or Croatia, but worldwide! On 34 matchdays, top players of the HBL lower house show their top performance from Friday to Monday and provide fullest handball experience. The variety of live events are supplemented by highlights and HBL's own on-demand content - more handball than ever!
