Current German cup winner: Rhein-Neckar Löwen

Since its victory over VfL Gummersbach in 2009, THW Kiel has been the sole record winner of the DHB Cup with a total of twelve titles. Since 1975, the cup competition has been contested in an elimination procedure alongside the regular league matches. All Bundesliga clubs from the 1st and 2nd HBL of the previous season as well as the clubs that qualified via the regional cup competitions are allowed to take part. The winner of the DHB Cup has been decided in a Final Four since 1993. From 1994 to 2022, the Final Four was held in the Hanseatic city of Hamburg. Since 2023, the LANXESS arena in Cologne has been the new venue for the final round.
